Visit to Tanfield Railway
17 August (Thursday) – Visit to Tanfield Railway.
Arrive 10.30am at Andrews House car park.
Tour of yard area, shed, workshops, etc. (toilets available in carriage shed)
Buffet lunch in Andrews House Station (toilets available)
Guided walk along the track from Andrews House to Causey.
See waggonway interpretation site and Causey Arch.
Continue to East Tanfield Station and on the way see site of Engine house archaeological dig.

The wearing of stout footwear is advisable and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Anyone who does not want to walk can see inside the signal box and have extra time at Marley Hill.
For those attending I suggest we make a donation towards the cost of the buffet – Tanfield Railway is a registered charity.
