Next date for your diaries if you have young ‘uns to amuse is the 11th August at Stanhope Railway Station. Caroline Hardie will be doing a reading of Little Loco’s BIG Day and having a bit of fun with puzzles, poetry, flag design, maybe a song and some horsing about between 11 and 12. Programme Timetable
10.00 – Workshop with Graham Temby on The Story Train. Graham’s captivating historical adventures whisk us away to Medieval England and he promises to bring some of that magic to the Story Train.
10.30 – Peter Barron – storytelling on the Green Bubble Car. Zizu Loses His Stripes is a picture book, for children aged 4-7, telling the story about a little zebra, called Zizu, who loses his stripes in the jungle. An engaging and fun story about the importance of friendship.
11.00 – Join Caroline Hardie for a workshop on The Story Train. Author Caroline Hardie will read from her book Little Locos’ BIG day, all about the Opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway in 1825. Will Little Loco manage to pull such as BIG train and what will happen to Herald the Horse if the locomotive takes his job away? Learn about the importance of good friends and after the story there will be opportunities to do some colouring in, complete some puzzles and get a Little Loco sticker. Little Loco books will also be for sale and the author is happy to sign them.
12.00 – Roundabout Rabbits workshop & reading session with Lisa Cryer. A book inspired by real rabbits who live on a roundabout in Newcastle upon Tyne.
12.30 – Bishop Auckland train arrives
13:00 – The Night Whale — reading & workshop with Gillian O’Mara. Ant art-loving, book-loving children will be utterly enchanted by this workshop*
13.30 – Nikki Noo Noo reading The Legend of the Rainbow Conker. Her book is a story about friendship, standing out yet fitting in and embracing who you really are. Perfect for those who love to be in the great outdoors on an exciting adventure. Oh and add in a little bit of magic too!*
13.45 – Victoria Downes reading Goodbye Explorers. Flo and Bertie are preparing to leave nursery and start Big School. They think about the future and try to learn the songs they’ll perform on stage! *
